This post is a sort of companion, to go along with my previous blog post “Series I have yet to finish”.
Below are a list of my top 10 book series that I have been meaning to start reading. They have all my TBR for a while now, and I do still intend on reading them eventually.
Let me know if you have read any of these series, and what you think of them!
So instead of continuing to ramble on…Let’s do this!
The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater
I really need to buy these books soon. Like, really soon. I saw the release of the 4th book – The Raven King (shown above) and it just brought back all the reason I want to read this series.
Plus the covers are stunning ❤

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
The release of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo has pushed me into gear with this series. I actually own the first book – Shadow and Bone – and hopefully will be reading and reviewing it this month.
And again, here’s another series where the covers are stunning 😀

The Madman’s Daughter series by Megan Shepherd
I always forget about this series for a while and then it comes back and I suddenly want it all the more.
[Goodreads page for The Madman’s Daughter]
The Lord of the Rings trilogy by JRR Tolkien
When I buy these books I hope to get this edition, or one very similar, because I own The Hobbit in this version and want them to match. But if not, it won’t be the end of the world. I mean, these covers are quite plain anyway.
I’ve seen all of the Lord of the Rings films, so I want to read the books soon enough. I know they’re all supposed to be one book, but I’d rather read them as a trilogy because all of them in one go would be quite intimidating (seriously, that book is HUGE).
[Goodreads page for The Fellowship of the Ring]
Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi
I remember first wanting to read this because of how much I like Tahereh Mafi. She seems like such a nice person. But yeah, the books sound really interesting too.
I own the first book – Shatter Me – so hopefully i can actually start this soon!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor
Let me just say I both love the covers, and also find them quite creepy too. Is that possible?
Apparently so.
I’ve so many good things about this series. That’s mainly why they’re on this list.
[Goodreads page for Daughter of Smoke and Bone]
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I think they’re in the right order, but I apologize if not!
This is a series i’m a bit hesitant with, because 1. There’s loads of them and 2. Each book is HUGE.
I’d definitely have to buy the first and see how much I like it before buying the rest.
I have a feeling this would be like the A Song Of Ice and Fire series in regards to reading, where it takes me ages to complete the entire series.
[Goodreads page for Outlander]
An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir
So far this isn’t much of a series, since the other books are yet to be released. Again, this is a book i’m wanting to read because of the amount of good reviews I’ve seen for it.
[Goodreads page for An Ember in the Ashes]
The Covenant series by Jennifer L Armentrout
This has been on my list since I randomly picked up Half -Blood cheaply over a year ago without realizing who the author is. I’ve read a book by Jennifer L Armentrout before and I adored it. This genre seems more like something I’d enjoy so i’m intrigued to start it. I haven’t heard much about it to be honest.
Also, how stunning are the covers?!?!!?
[Goodreads page for Half blood]
The Winner’s trilogy by Marie Rutkoski
And yet another one I’ve heard a lot about.
Also wondering if there’s a different edition for the 1st book that I missed, since the writing layout is different from the other two.
[Goodreads page for The Winner’s Curse]
So those are my top 10 series that i have yet to read – but hope to get to soon!
As I said before, let me know if you have read any of these series, and which series I should read first!

I have read Lord of the Rings. I actually took a whole course on it in undergrad that was really fun. I would definitely recommend reading those, also the Hobbit, if you haven’t read it already. I started the Outlander series, but wasn’t really enjoying it. I know a lot of people who love it, but I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted to try again with it. I bought the first two, now they are just sitting on my shelves.

I have read the Hobbit 🙂 I was close to getting the full bind up of Lord Of The Rings today because it was in a charity shop but the spine was wrecked

Oh no! I hate when stuff like that happens. Well, when you get a chance to obtain copies you would definitely enjoy LOTR!

If they’re anything like the hobbit, I’m sure I will 😀

this is so weird. I literally just posted practically the same post! both the Grisha trilogy and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone are on my list of Series I need to Finish in 2016. I loved the Daughter of Smoke and Bone I just never got around to reading the last book. And I really want to read The Raven Boys but I’m waiting until the last book is released.

Oh man Outlander really scares me as well. The ladies I work with are always talking about them and the show and I just don’t want to be stuck reading a million pages. I like to speed reads and with those it will be almost impossible. I’ve heard really good things about the Raven Cycles series. Great list!

That’s exactly how I feel about the Outlander series! So so many pages! And thank you 🙂

This is essentially my series TBR as well! 😀 I desperately need to start Daughter of Smoke and Bone, LOTR, and The Raven Cycle; those are at the top of my list!

A lot of the series listed are also on my TBR. There’s just too many. I don’t even know where to begin!

That’s what I think! I go to buy news books and just stare at all the ones on my TBR like “now…which do I get this time…?”

The Raven Boys was great, but I have yet to read any of the sequels. (I’ve checked out The Dream Thieves TWICE, yet have failed to read it both times.) I also read Outlander ages ago…and never any of the others, because…look at them! But LOTR is a must, of course. c: Don’t we all have too many books on our TBR list, though?

At least when there’s too many books on our TBR’s, we can never run out of options 🙂

Okay, long comment coming up!
-I loved The Raven Boys and seriously need to continue with the series…
-The Grisha Trilogy is really good, though not my favorite fantasy series.
-I read The Madman’s Daughter and liked it but haven’t gotten around to the two other books.
-LotR is quite a commitment but it’s amazing!
-The Shatter Me series was amazing, and never have I ever jumped ships so fast or completely.
-I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which is one of my favorite books (I have a few dozen favorites, actually) and for some reason I haven’t picked up the sequels…
-I haven’t read Outlander but I’m interested to, especially because of the few clips I’ve seen of the TV show.
-An Ember in the Ashes wasn’t really my cup of tea and I may or may not read the sequel.
-I’ve read all of the Covenant books except for Sentinel and I loved them! Those cliffhangers–gah!
-And finally, I really like The Winner’s books. I did think book 2 was a lot better than book 1, which I found pretty frustrating and uneven.
Looks like you’ve got quite a reading pile!! I hope you enjoy all these books when you get around to them! 🙂
