Book Fangirling Award (& a rant apparently…)

Book Fangirling

Aaaaaaaand the blog awards are back! I’ve been nominated for three recently – 2 new ones and 1 being a repeat – so there will be more blog award posts to come. Hope you don’t mind!

I’ve also decided to change around my Milestones & Awards page. The repeated award nominations at the moment are just shown again, but instead I’m changing it so the logo is just shown once with the number of nominations and all the posts linked next to it, so the page isn’t really long like it is at the minute. I don’t know how long it’ll take me to sort through it all though, so you might have to bare with if you notice anything different.

But that’s not what this post is about….here we have the Book Fangirling Award!

I was nominated for The Book Fangirling Award by The Little Book Affair, so thank you very much! I wasn’t expecting it at all but it means a lot haha ❤

Plus let me just say I LOVE the award logo because Harry Potter is life.

That is all.

Answering the questions…

What book did you really want to read this year but didn’t?

Winter

Winter by Marissa Meyer because that was released not long ago and I still really want to read that, and since everybody is still talking about it I’m envious. BUT there’s a reason I haven’t bought it yet…get ready for story (rant) time.

The Lunar Chronicles series has a novella called Fairest, based on the villain and her point of view/reasoning behind everything. This is the thing that’s causing me problems. I really want to read this book, and so many people have told me it’s better to read it before Winter. But on Amazon – where I order my books from – it’s quite a bit more expensive than the actual books in the series, even though it’s a lot smaller book, and for some reason this really annoys me. So I look in my local bookshop, but I’ve NEVER seen it there. And what’s painful is that Winter is always on the “buy one get one half price” offer there, meaning Fairest probably would be too if they had it. But no. I’m either going to have to buy it at the full price, or take a look at the other buying options and see if there’s a cheaper alternative.

Sorry about that.

Unexpected rant over.

Did you reach your Goodreads book goal?

Goodreads challenge 2015

Funny story. At the end of 2014 I started a year of A levels, so I thought I would very rarely have time to read, and aimed really low at just 24 books – 2 books a month. Then summer came along and I just passed that with no problem. Then I started a different course which takes up less time, so I read more than expected. So yes, I did complete my Goodreads challenge. Easily haha!

Most anticipated release of 2016?

The 5th book in the Throne of Glass series. It doesn’t have a title, cover, or release date yet…but I want it. Right this very second. And the Throne of Glass colouring book that’s being released on the exact same day. Just drown me in Throne of Glass feels please.

Debut author you fell in love with this year?

The Dead House

I *think* this is a debut author? I heard this was Dawn Kurtagich’s first book and it was released earlier this year. I picked it up after seeing it was one of those books with the really cool formatting, and it quickly became one of my favourite books. I’m sure I’ll be picking up any of her future novels and seeing how they compare!

What’s your least favourite book by your favourite author?

I don’t even know how to answer this question. There’s not one book I like less in any author’s series’. I thought about saying The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling but I haven’t actually read that, so I can’t. Plus I’ve only read the Harry Potter series by her so I feel like I can’t say she’s a favourite author until I’ve read something different from her and loved that too.

I’ll go with one of the books from the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin, because I remember one dragging on a bit more than the rest of them. Only problem is…I can’t remember which book! I think it might have been the second? Who knows?

So those are my answers (and apparently I can’t just give short answers) – so now onto my nominations and questions!

I nominate…

Kelly @ Stellar Scrutiny

Olivia @ Heir of Glitter

Mariana @ Fireheartbooks

Emmi @ Books with Ems

Charleigh @ Charleigh’s Book Nook

And my questions are…

1. Do you have any bookish resolutions for 2016? If so, what are they?

2. What is the first book you’re going to read in 2016?

3. Do you have a LEAST favourite author? If so, who?

4. Did you get any books for Christmas? If so, which ones? (If you’ve done a book haul feel free to mention this in your answer and leave a link to it, I love reading them!)

5. Approximately how many books do you own?
