So now that it’s the end of the year, I figured I’d show you what my Top 10 books of 2015 were. I think it’s going to be difficult to choose just 10!
I’ve written a guest post very similar to this over on Books With Em’s, so you guys should go and check that out!
Anyway, I’ll mix this one up a bit so that it’s not exactly the same post. I suppose the guest post can be a sort of…Top 5 favourites from my Top 10 – if that makes any sense.
Now instead of rambling on, time for me to show you my top 10 favourite books of 2015!
Queen of Shadows
by Sarah J Maas
Of course a Sarah J Maas book was going to be on here. I actually wanted A Court of Thorns and Roses to be on this list to but I needed the space for other books too. Let’s just say that Queen of Shadows is here to represent all Sarah J Maas books.

The Illustrated Edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
by JK Rowling and Jim Kay
I only just finished this a couple of days ago but it had to be on the list. Harry Potter has made a come back! Plus this illustrated editions is just gorgeous so how could I not include it?

The Dead House
by Dawn Kurtagich
This was a surprise favourite, as I’d never heard of it before. But it’s one of those books that’s formatted really interestingly – in letters, diary entries, camera footage etc. I sped through this book so quickly considering it’s size. It’s one of those books that really grips you, and you just have to keep reading.

A Darker Shade of Magic
by V.E. Schwab
I discovered Victoria Schwab’s books this year, and even though I’ve only read a couple of her books so far, she has become one of my favourite authors. The second book to this series is coming out in February, and it’s one of my most anticipated releases.

The Shadow of the Wind
by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
This is one of those books that has made me want to buy all the books from the same author and see if I love them just as much. I actually did get one of his other books for Christmas so…that may become a thing. This book, along with The Book Thief, really got me into historical fiction, so I’m really glad I picked this up!

Hollow City
by Ransom Riggs
This is the second book is Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children trilogy. I love how quirky this series is, with the photographs adding something unique to the story. I’m still waiting for the third and final book to be released in paperback though!

The Mime Order
by Samantha Shannon
The Bone Season has quickly become one of my favourite series, so when The Mime Order was finally released in paperback this year, I devoured the story in no time. I can’t wait to see where this story goes with the third book release next year.

Illuminae
by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’ve been wanting to read more SciFi lately so Illuminae was a great read for me. It’s another book that’s formatted in various ways, and I absolutely loved it!

Cress
by Marissa Meyer
I finally got round to reading the third book in The Lunar Chronicles series! This is my favourite in the series so far, but I haven’t read Fairest or Winter yet so that may change next year. But for now, here it is in my top 10.

The Name of the Wind
by Patrick Rothfuss
This is another one I read recently, just before Christmas. I feel like most fantasy lovers adore this book, mainly for how complex and full the story is. Well, I’m one of those fantasy lovers, so here it is on my list!

I see that you’re currently reading the Wrath and the Dawn… 😉 and OMG how good was the Name of the Wind. The second one, The Wise Man’s fear has, uhhh, let’s just say lot’s of adult content. Prepare yourself.
Name of the Wind has been signed by Lionsgate (creators of The Hunger Games, Divergent) for a movie, TV series AND video game. Seems a bit like overkill but meh, I’m just happy that we’re getting so much on it 🙂
PATRICK ROTHFUSS WHERE IS THE THIRD BOOK?? Apparently, he’s already written it; he wrote and completed all three before even going to the publishers; and is now just in the “editing” stage. He has literally spent the last 7 years editing this one book. Perfectionist much. GIVE ME THE THIRD BOOK. [insert give it to me gif]

I am, it’s amazing from what I’ve read so far! And I LOVED The Name of the Wind (stating the obvious since it’s on this list). Thanks for the warning about the second book xD That’s A LOT of adaptations for one book…wow. I think it’ll be an epic film though! I’m kind of hoping that because I was so late in reading the first book, it’;; not seem as long as a wait for the third one to me…I hope. Probably not, I’m so impatient haha! I don’t know when they were published but it sounds a lot like a George RR Martin case, where he takes YEARS to release one book *sighs* but oh well. Just means my grabby hands will arrive once the book is finally released 😀

Queen of Shadows is one of my favorites too! I haven’t read any of the others except Cress though, and I have to admit that I liked Winter more. 😉
Also, did you know the release date for Throne of Glass 5 has been released? I’m so excited!!! 😀 Totally not related though, haha oops. XD

Ahh I haven’t read Winter yet, but who knows – I might join you in that!
Also NO I DIDN’T HOW DID I MISS IT?!?!? I’m searching that right away. I know the synopsis was released because I was fangirling over that but somehow completely missed the release date oh my god!

So glad you liked Shadow of the Wind. It is my most favourite book of all time! I actually got Prince of Mist by Zafron for Christmas as well. 🙂

A Darker Shade of Magic also made my list! It was my #3 favorite of the year, but ranking my top favorites is super hard — I love them equally for different reasons. 🙂
