January Wrap Up

January wrap up

I haven’t done many wrap ups before, but I figured I’d make more of an effort to do them from now on. I mean, it gives me one more post idea every month so there we go.

I think this one will be a round up of books (obviously) and maybe a round up of blog posts uploaded, as well as life updates in general.

Be prepared, this post is a long one.

So here we go…

Books I read this month

January was a really good reading month for me! I rated most of the books around 4 stars, and actually read more than I expected.

The Wrath and the Dawn

I loved this book! I fell in love with the story straight away.

Probably my favourite graphic novel that I’ve read so far. Really fun and quirky.

Outlander

by Diana Gabaldon

This very quickly became my latest obsession and newest favourite book! I adore it and can’t wait to continue the series!

Siege and Storm

by Leigh Bardugo

I read this one because I needed to read the third book in January (explanation for that in the next one), so obviously I had to read the second beforehand. Didn’t enjoy this quite as much as the first, but it was still fun and a quick read.

Ruin and Rising

I read this book as part of Emmi’s @ Books with Ems‘ January challenge in the Blogger Bookclub “To finish a series”. This was also a buddy read with Olivia @ Heir of Glitter. I enjoyed this one more than the previous, but was a bit confused with the ending and would’ve liked it to be quite different, if I’m honest.

Wolf by Wolf

Again, I really liked this book. It was so unique and has gotten me really into historical fiction, so now I’m on the hunt for more.

I am currently reading…

The Sleeping Prince

by Melinda Salisbury

The Sleeping Prince

My local Waterstones had a few early copies of this, and I my boyfriend very kindly bought it me! I did kind of hope to finish it this weekend and have a review up within the next few days, but that didn’t happen. I started it Friday, spent Saturday painting Disney Princesses (I’ll leave photo’s below in the “life in general” section) and Sunday – well, today – I’ll be at my friend’s house so I probably won’t get chance to read all that much. I feel like I might finish this on Wednesday. It always takes me longer because of college, and how tired I am when I return home.

Life In General

January brought back college. Ugh. I say that but I don’t actually mind college. It just tires me out A LOT.

Anyway, I’ll talk about the more exciting things.

Let’s think…

I preordered my copy of A Gathering Of Shadows by VE Schwab, as well as the free preorder gift you can apply for! So excited, I’ve been waiting for this book for so long now.

I received an award as one of the Best YA book bloggers of 2015 (badge in sidebar) so that was amazing!

I’ve made a few bookish aesthetics on twitter which I really love, so you should go on my profile and check those out! Although It may take you a while to find them since I tweet so much…oops. But so far I’ve done four for he Throne of Glass series, and seven for the Harry Potter series.

I started sharing my reviews on Amazon and added a review policy page to my blog. Might not be interesting to you guys but I feel like I’ve upgraded.

I finally found a blog design that I actually like! *Throws glitter in the air*

I REACHED 200 FOLLOWERS! *throws even more glitter*

My little bookstagram account has grown slightly.

Aaaaaaand….that’s all I can think of right now in the terms of interesting life updates.

OH WAIT. I mentioned earlier in the post how I spent all day yesterday painting Disney Princesses. This is what I mean…

Alice in WonderlandRapunzel

BelleSnow White

So there we have it…Probably the longest Wrap up in history. Wow.

I applaud you if you read all that. *high five*.

Any thoughts on anything mentioned?

How many books did you read this month? Did anything particularly exciting happen for you? Do you have an artistic side to you, like I do? I’m always wanting to hear more from you guys so…

Let me know in the comments!
