Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will have a book!!!

*I apologize for the horrid title image and the amount of fangirling in this post, but I heard this news and had to share it immediately*

GUYS.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD WILL HAVE A BOOK.

AN ACTUAL BOOK.

WE POTTERHEADS WILL BE ABLE TO READ THE STORY.

I’M FREAKING OUT.

It’s been announced that JK Rowling is releasing the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in book form, the day after the play is first shown.

And while it might not be what we expected (a normal book), I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on this!

I was gutted when I found out the play would only be in London – one, because I don’t live in London, two, because going to the play would’ve been expensive. So knowing I’ll get to know the story anyway? I’M SO HAPPY! *throws glitter in the air*

Cursed child

Goodreads Synopsis:

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.

Anyway, I just had to make a spontaneous post to share this news.

Let me know in the comments if you’re a potterhead!

How excited are you for this!

Will you read it even though it’s a script, rather than a normal book?

  3. NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS HOW I (and I’m sure every potterhead) FEEL RIGHT NOW. Sorry for the capitals but seeing as though I can’t form an actual sentence about how excited I am then the large letters will have to say it for me. Are you planning on going to a midnight launch or are you ordering it? : )

    1. No need to apologize for the capitals, half of the blog post is written in capitals after all haha! 😀 And I hadn’t thought about the midnight launch! Honestly I’ll probably just order it, because I never really do bookish events like that (though I wish I did), but maybe it could be a first 🙂
