Not when I got so many books last month.
I even told myself not to buy more at the end of the February Book Haul – and I quote:
“I don’t think there’ll be any need for me to buy books for a while now”
Shows how much I listen to myself.
Anyway, I got more books. And here they are.

This is the 2nd book in The Raven Cycle series, and after reading the 1st book, I new I just had to get this one as soon as possible.
Plus let’s be real, who can resist buying this series when the covers are so stunning?

Unravel Me
by Tahereh Mafi
|Again, this is the 2nd book in a series, this time the Shatter Me series.
I read Shatter Me a while back and loved it, but haven’t yet gotten round to continuing the series. Well, now I’m one step closer to achieving that! I’m looking forward to diving into this book at some point, especially because of Tahereh Mafi’s writing style ❤

Lola and the Boy Next Door

| Oh look, another 2nd book in a series…the Anna and the French Kiss series.
I read Anna and the French Kiss absolutely ages ago, but surprisingly it was one of my favourite books. I say surprisingly because I’m not usually a huge fan of contemporary, but I’m just getting into it now. So here I’ve finally bought the 2nd book in the series, ready for me to finally continue on.
At the moment I’m debating whether to reread Anna and the French Kiss before reading this one because I read it so so long ago, but I’m not sure. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Between Shades of Gray
by Ruta Sepetys
| In February I got Ruta Sepetys’ latest book Salt To The Sea. I’d heard so many people say that they adore this book from her too, and since I’m loving historical fiction lately, I decided to pick this one up.
I’m hoping to read this one soon, possibly in April (though now I’ve said that I’ll probably not read it until December or something).

Wuthering Heights
by Emily Bronte
| These next two I blame Abbie for (sorry Abbie). She visited the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth, and for some reason this got me thinking that I’ve only actually read one of Charlotte Bronte’s books – that being Jane Eyre. So I’ve made it a small mission of mine to read at least one book from each of the Bronte sisters.
From Emily Bronte I chose Wuthering Heights. Since I’m not yet that into classics (there’s only about three I actually like, but I’ve not read many yet), I got these editions from Amazon rather than any particularly pretty covers, since they were only £1.99 and I wouldn’t be so bothered if I don’t like it. Also, I have quite a few of these editions, so they match the rest.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
by Anne Bronte
|For Anne Bronte, I chose The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. I’d heard of this one from Amy Thurgood’s BookTube channel, and for some reason it just really stood out to me. It’s not often that I really want to read a classic, so I knew I had to get this one.
And again, it was only £1.99 from Amazon so you can’t really go wrong!

How Hard Can Love Be?

| This is when I start realizing I bought a lot of “2nd book in a series” books this month.
This is the 2nd book in the Normal series by Holly Bourne. I read Am I Normal Yet? earlier this month and adored it, which kind of led to me immediately ordering two more of her books. I actually had quite a surprise with both of the Holly Bourne books when I opened the package – this one because it’s an exclusive first edition!

The Manifesto on How to be Interesting
by Holly Bourne
|And the other Holly Bourne book I got was The Manifesto on How to Be Interesting. I don’t know much about this one, but I want to read it anyway purely because it’s Holly Bourne.
And the surprise I had when opening the package with this one – it has bright red page edges! I had no idea so when I opened the box and it was so bright I just went “Woah. Did NOT expect that.” 😀 You can even see on the photo that my fingers are glowing red where they’re holding the book underneath.
So now I have nearly all of Holly Bourne’s books. The only one I don’t own is Soulmates, which I know nothing about. I should probably read up on it because I’m not going to lie, the title is REALLY putting me off. The “I-hate-cringey-contemporary-type-books” is judging the title so hard. But that also happened with Anna and the French Kiss, and that turned out the be a favourite so…

Blue Lily, Lily Blue

| Remember how at the start I said I’d bought and read The Dream Thieves? Well, that meant I had to get the 3rd book in the series to follow…so I did.
I might read this one in April so that I can join in with everyone’s excitement for The Raven King release. But then I might not. I mean, if I don’t read this one in time, I’ll be less tempted to buy The Raven King immediately, and my bank account could do with a break.
Either way, I’m looking forward to reading this!

| This is more of a pamphlet than a book, but for the sake of understanding, this is a sort of companion novel to The Bone Season series. I won a signed physical copy of this in a giveaway, and fangirled SO HARD.

So there we have it!
A quite large book haul when really, it shouldn’t even exist.
To be honest though, I don’t feel too bad about getting these books. Two of my bookish resolutions at the start of the year was to 1.) Finish series I’ve started and 2.) Read more classics. So by getting the 2nd/3rd books in various series and also a couple of classics…I’m sticking to my resolutions! You know, as long as I read them this year (which no doubt I will).

A frolic through fiction 
I shall allow you to partly blame me on the classics 😉 I realised after reading this, I want to read/ plan to read nearly all books on here apart from one and one I’ve already read. There you go, Influencing me again! These are my fave posts and I get extra excited for when you do them, even though I usually get an unboxing or haul before you do them anyways! aha

Which one is it that you’re not wanting to read? I’m intrigued. Although I think I can guess…Between Shades of Gray? And I am just the best book influencer to anyone who knows me personally. And these post are the best, whether you already know what’s coming or not haha!

Awesome haul 🙂 I just got Between Shades of Grey from the library, really excited to read it. I love Holly Bourne’s books too. I would say you don’t need to re-read Anna and the French Kiss before reading Lola – there’s not really much crossover as this book focuses on Lola (from what I can remember Anna just makes a little cameo at some point in the book).

I’m actually going to read Withering Heights this month for my classics challenge! I haven’t read a single Bronte novel so I’d thought I’d start now! I don’t bother buying the other classics editions if I can as most you could access most of them for free on the internet anyway!

Oh well I hope you enjoy it! I would get the free copies on my phone or whatever but I can’t read from screens, so I’ll stick with the cheap physical copies 😀 And thank you!

Screens are terrible for my already terrible eyes so I get what you mean. The Wordworths editions are so cheap so nobody can say I’m spending a lot when a buy a lot of them!

I’d recommend reading Anna before Lola because Anna is kind of important in Lola’s story. 😉

Salt to the Sea I really enjoyed, and I’m hoping her other books are just as good!
Now I’m really conflicted about rereading Anna haha! Some people tell me she’s only in it briefly, then others say she’s important. I really hardly remember anything from the book apart from a faint memory of the storyline, so I might reread it anyway and do a review, to see if it’ll still be a favourite.

I could be wrong about her importance because I’ve read a lot of books since I read Lola. XD I would say reread anyway, just as a sort of refresher. 😉

I think so long as you remember the main plot points of Anna and the French Kiss, I wouldn’t say it’s crucial to re-read it before moving on to Lola; they’re more like companion novels than sequels.
I’m excited to see The Raven Cycle books and your post reminded me that I need to do a re-read of those myself in preparation for the final book! 🙂
It’s not a March book haul per say but I did a cumulative haul here of all the books I’ve somehow acquired (oops) since Christmas. I wish I could say I’ve restrained myself after this mountain of books but I actually just bought five used books today, with the excuse that I was in Edinburgh so it would be downright rude not to take advantage of their cute used bookshops. Any justification, am I right? 😛

Thank you! I love the Raven Cycle, I assume it only gets better on re-read since more hints from the first book start to make sense. I’m looking forward to revisiting the world though since those books are really like nothing else I’ve ever read.
Oh I’m very, VERY good at justifying buying books, unfortunately that’s not a skill non-book lovers appreciate quite as much.

Buy the books! As soon as you can 😀 I’m such a bad influence when it comes to book buying haha! And thank you! ❤ My nails don't actually look that nice at the minute, I have an awful nail biting habit I'm trying to get out of – at least they looked good for the photos though haha!

I probably already raved to you about Between Shades of Gray, so I’ll spare you from that again haha I read Wuthering Heights a few years ago and thought it was pretty good (and for me, saying that about a classic is really high praise lol).

Great post! I really want to read How Hard Can Love Be and it’s definitely not necessary to read Anna again. They mention how good they are as a couple in the second book but you don’t even meet them again until the third book when there is a reunion. On a side note, is there anything in particular you do that helps you along with getting followers? I’m just curious… 😂💕

I think I’m going to reread Anna anyway, because I’ve sort of talked my way into being curious about whether it’d still be a favourite or not.Though I’m glad to know I wouldn’t HAVE to, if I decide I can’t be bothered xD
