BOOKSHELF TOUR, 1 year of blogging …& possible booktube channel? ALL THE IDEAS ARE HAPPENING

lets-talk-1

SO MUCH EXCITEMENT IS SURROUNDING ME TODAY!

It has officially been 1 year since I started this little blog of mine!

Exactly one year ago today, I published my first post…which I’m pretty sure was a review for A Court of Thorns and Roses (though don’t go looking because my reviews back then were really, really rubbish).

So much has changed since then. The design has changed about 5 times, the graphics change whenever I think of some new idea, my writing has changed and become a lot less rigid…and I’ve become Okayy with showing my face on the internet more.

The last of which, has led to this.

I’VE MADE A BOOKSHELF TOUR!

I’ve always wanted to be a booktuber – before I even had a blog – so this is so incredibly exciting for me. I NEVER thought I’d be the sort of person who could understand how YouTube works, or be able to create a half decent video with all the technicalities involved. But over the past year, circumstances have made it so that making those half-decent videos…might not actually be so impossible after all. And I figured if ever I was going to try it, I should do it to celebrate something!

So here is my bookshelf tour, in celebration of reaching the 1 year milestone of blogging.

I own over 300 books, so it’s without a doubt a long video. But, whenever you have a spare 20 minutes, I would really appreciate it if you could give it a watch and let me know if you like it 🙂

Like I said before, I’ve wanted to be a booktuber for years. And this…kind of feels like a kick-start to that. So PLEASE let me know if you’d like to see more videos from me! That last little push of encouragement might just make it happen. I wouldn’t really have a schedule – rather, I’d just upload videos whenever I could – especially since I post on here 3 times a week. I won’t be stopping that! It’ll be more a case of me uploading a video whenever I have an idea.

So yeah, if you’d like to see more videos from me, let me know and I’ll definitely make it a thing 😀

Ad after this long, rambley post, here is the part dedicated to YOU GUYS!

Thank you all so incredibly much for supporting me and my blog. No matter what you do, whether it’s following my blog, reading, liking & commenting on posts, sharing my posts, chatting to me on social media, or any other imaginable thing, THANK YOU! It honestly means so much to me. To have this little (but slowly expanding) corner of the internet where I can throw all my bookish musings into one ongoing ramble is just the best thing 🙂 I’ve met so many great people through this blog, I’ve worked with publishers and authors (Me! Can you believe it?!) and here I am today, finally building up the courage to start a booktube channel of my own to pair with this blog. And absolutely none of that would have happened without you guys rooting for me. Once again, thank you. I’ll never be able to explain just how much it means to me ❤

Here’s to another successful year of blogging!

(And don’t you worry, the final installment of the blogger tips series is coming next Sunday!)

Until next time…

  1. This is great! I loved seeing your shelves. Part of the reason I started a book blog was because booktube interested me too.

But congrats on your one year anniversary! 🙂

  2. Congratulations on your one year blogiversary Ashleigh, I imagine the time must have flown by for you right? And here’s hoping you have another amazing year ahead of you!
Also good luck with your booktube channel. For me booktube is a completely foreign idea so I’ll stick with my little corner on WordPress, but I’ll definitely check out your video. I hope it all works out OK for you with your new channel! 😀

  3. There are so many things to congratulate you on, Ashleigh!! Congrats on your first year of blogging! Congrats on finally breaking into BookTube! Congrats on being more comfortable with being a face and a name in book blogging! I fully support you continuing you adventure in BookTubing. Personally, I hope you also keep blogging, since I find reading reviews more appealing, but I do love your bookshelf tour. It’s wonderful. 🙂

    1. Thank you SO much Jackie! 😀
I’ll DEFINITELY keep blogging as much as I do now, and there will still be a written review for every book I read (I don’t like watching reviews on YouTube so it’s unlikely I’ll do my own often). Youtube will be a more random thing rather than scheduled 🙂

        1. Exactly 🙂 I think my main issue will be when it comes to doing hauls and wrap ups, I might not be able to decide where to do it. I might do a video and just link it through here, but write it underneath for those who would rather read it. Or I might just do two separate ones and let people choose. Who knows?

  4. Congratulations on your year of blogging! I just checked out your shelf tour and absolutely loved it! I would definitely love to see more from you on BookTube! Congrats again and I hope your next year of blogging is just as exciting!

  5. I really enjoyed your bookshelf tour! I’d definitely be interested in any other videos you come up with, seeing as how I enjoy reading your blog. Maybe if you had any creative ideas that might not translate well over blogging – such as tutorials or more tours – they’d be best done via video. I much prefer to read reviews rather than watch them!

  6. Hey Ashleigh! I’m new around here so I’m just like whoa. You only started blogging a year ago and have accomplished so much! I definitely got your accent wrong and imagined it as more of a London accent (as I usually do) however, I have heard Irish an version of the accent you have and I have heard your accent before on CBBC?

    Anyways, congratulations!

  7. That was adorbs! I’ll accept my medal via mail. 🎖
You are so pretty. (Something you should know!)
Where are you from? I noticed the accent (and all this time I thought you were in the US, too! I would guess but don’t want to get it wrong…I know your covers all mostly U.K. Versions…so U.K. Or AUS? Am I right?)
Love the organization of each shelf! You have books I’d die to have…but I have to keep my life Kindle-ready for now (one day, wall to wall bookshelves! Dreams!)
I congratulate you on your year! 👏👏👏👏 and 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

    1. Thank you so so much!
Yepp, I’m from the UK 🙂 Good ol’ England.
My shelves don’t have much organisation other than book by the same authors stay together, so they just go wherever looks best ahaha 😆 I hope to have at least one full wall of bookshelves one day too ❤

      1. Well, I’m looking forward to your other Bookstagram posts! I couldn’t do it because I’m too shy and I would probably get all tongue-twisted. Loved the bloopers…don’t our cats love to photo-bomb?
