Merry Christmas!! Grateful wonderings from 2016 & a few festive updates

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Considering it’s Christmas day tomorrow, I thought I’d move this blog post a day earlier and make it a mash of grateful wonderings and festive updates.

Though really, the updates aren’t actually that festive…at all…

Although this post is labelled as being festive, it’s a lot more of an acknowledgement of things I’m grateful for from 2016, so if you don’t celebrate Christmas – don’t worry, you won’t be bombarded with it. And I hope each and every one of you take a moment and join me in thinking of things you’re grateful for 🙂

Let’s get to it!

grateful

I am grateful for... the people surrounding me. For my family and friends, supporting me through this year.

I am grateful for… the fact that despite getting diagnosed with anxiety this year, it’s not stopped me from doing things. The fact that I’ve managed to apply to university, travel by train to another city I’ve never been to before, and continue on with my Journalism course, despite them all being things that can make me panic.

I am grateful for… the comfortable life I have. Every day I look around me and appreciate how lucky I am to have a warm home, food, and everything else I need to live a happy life…and then have more to spare. For the books that mean so much to me, and everything else beyond that.

I am grateful for... the times I’ve been acknowledged by publishers and authors. For the fact that I’m actually on a couple of publisher’s blogger databases, and occasionally have ARCs sent my way.

And finally (or at least, the last one I’m going to mention, considering there’s so many), I’m grateful for… you guys. All of you, here supporting me, and how far you’ve brought this little blog of mine. You’ve given me the motivation and confidence to keep this blog going, and also to finally start up a booktube channel after years of dreaming. You did that. Thank you. For every follow, comment, like, message, chat on social media, absolutely everything. Thank you.

looking-forward

Honestly, I have no idea where 2017 is going to take me.

But I’m looking forward to finding out.

I’m looking forward to… seeing what university is like. My applications have recently been sent off, so hopefully I’ll get into my first choice. But either way, I’ve applied to study English Literature at all the uni’s I’ve sent applications to, and I’m genuinely looking forward to studying literature once again. It’s always been my favourite lesson, and honestly, I’m getting tired of my journalism course. I enjoyed it at first, but now I just want literature back. It’s a long story as to why I left it in the first place, so I’ll not get into that now, but I really, really miss it.

I’m looking forward to… continuing blogging and booktubing. To seeing where I end up with both, seeing how far they grow.

I’m looking forward to… the books I plan on reading. To trying new genres, more diverse reads. To discovering new stories that I have no doubt will live with me forever.

And I’m looking forward to… trying my hand at piano. I’ll be getting a keyboard soon, after years of wishing I could play piano, so at last I will finally attempt it.

  1. I am grateful for having the confidence to start a blog. I am not the shy type, yet nor the confident type. I am mostly inbetween, and so that made it hard for me to get the courage to start this blog. And this year has been so great because of me having a blog, being able to just talk to all my readers freely and just overall have fun and rant. I am so grateful for everything that 2016 has brought, and I hope 2017 brings greater things.
Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year everyone.

    1. What a wonderful thing to be grateful for ❤ I felt the same before starting mine – not shy, but not confident either – so I get what you mean. It would've been on my list had I started my blog this year!
      Merry Christmas ❤

  2. Merry Christmas! This year I’m most grateful for my blog all my followers, and my family and pets. The thing I’m looking forward to is graduating high school.

  4. Oh, so you’re not at college yet. I hope you get to go where you want. It’s harder blogging in college but the time you have you use for anything you enjoy! I already miss school and have only been done for, what, three weeks Now? Makes me sad. Enjoy your youthful fun years! This is the best time of your life right now!
    How’s the bullet journal going?

    1. I know, I almost dread to think what will happen to my blog & youtube towards the end of 2017 with the change in level of education…ugh. Oh well. All I can do is try 🙂
And it’s going well! I’ve done quite a few pages so far and I love it!
