April Wrap Up & Favourites | Why is it so hard to remember your faves when a month drags?

April. The month where Spring is well and truly upon us. In the UK, the mornings are freezing, while the afternoons may truly feel like summer. It’s a bizarre balance. Probably because…well, it isn’t a balance at all. And layers become everyone’s favourite fashion trend.

So while the weather has been wreaking havoc on both temperatures and my extreme hay fever, what has been happening? In the month that seemingly lasted three months (in my opinion, at least), and we all got a wonderful Easter break, what was read?

Well, let’s see…

My favourite book of the month ended up being A Room With A View by E.M. Forster, which I really didn’t expect! This is just a really lovely classics, not much happening but with a quaint atmosphere that just pulled me in immediately. It made my heart sing. It made me want to trundle around the countryside. It made me want to visit Italy. I just really loved this one, and it’s without a doubt one of my favourite classics now.

I have a full review coming soon, so keep an eye out for that!

So my online favourite for this month is @liliananbookish. I talk to her most on Instagram, with her tagging me in her mood mandala updates (which I love!)  and replying to my stories too. She’s such a lovely person and I just love chatting to her. Also, her bookstagram is absolutely GOALS. Look at it! She really deserves more followers, I don’t understand how she doesn’t have more.

She’s also recently been caught up with the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas, and I’ve loved keeping up with her thoughts via her insta story and seeing what she thinks. Also, we get too see the super cool bookmarks she makes now 😀

  • Lana Del Rey – So I knew for a while how much Karina @karinareads loves Lana, and I just kind of wanted in on that. I’m really fussy when it comes to finding new music – I don’t tend to like music until I know the words – and the whole echoing thing Lana does with her songs used to put me off. But I’ve gotten really into some of her songs lately and I’m totally planning on going back and basically getting all of her songs.

  • Instagram Stories – I used to use Snapchat a lot, but now I’ve been using insta stories so much lately! There’s just more fellow bookworms over on my instagram. But I’ve really been on it with the story feature. I mean, just the other day I did a full day “draw with me” kind of thing as I set up the May spreads in my bullet journal. I sometimes upload videos of me singing, when I’m feeling particularly…confident, I guess? Every evening I do mood mandala updates, and I’m making an effort to do regular reading updates too. And I’m actually loving it! I’d love for you to check out my instagram!

And here’s my full Wrap Up & May TBR!

  1. Lovely update! 🙂 I have read 13 Reasons Why years ago and that’s the only book I have read you have read as well (so many ‘read’). It’s cool to see that you don’t only write blogposts but also do videos, that’s ambitious! 😀 And now I want to read all of the books you have presented, oh nooo (in a good way; I just have too many unread books here aka so many open challenges I want to complete this year :’D). Keep up your great work!

  3. I have read A Room With a View and was pleasantly surprised! I will be reading more of his work.

I went to Stratford-upon-Avon to watch Antony and Cleopatra being performed; it was incredible! Read the play recently and have reviewed it on my blog.

Favourite book of the month was Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. I’m never normally a Sci-fi fan but holy crap that book was another level, I have never read anything like it!

Currently reading The Beekeeper’s Apprentice and really enjoying it so far 🙂

Sounds like you have some interesting favourites from April! I’ve not read Dark Matter but I know if I wanted something from that genre, it’d be the one I go for. It has so much hype!
