Let’s Talk: Do you wear your blogger status proudly?

blogger status pride

To my lovely readers who don’t actually run their own blog: I sincerely apologise that today’s post might not be something you relate to. But PLEASE, you’re very welcome to read and input if you have anything to say. It’d actually be quite interesting to have an outside view too šŸ™‚ Satisfy our curiosity, dear ones.

As for you fellow bloggers…

Did you shudder then? Does the term “blogger” make you cringe in that my-spine-is-actually-trying-to-bend-backwards way? Or do you jump to the word and shout YES THAT IS IĀ and hope to get it on a pin one day?

Admittedly, I’ve been both. I’ve seen both sides. Or rather, I’ve seen every side. Because situations change and we change as people and it’s just…actually quite complicated.

So let’s talk!

Merry Christmas!! Grateful wonderings from 2016 & a few festive updates

merry-christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Considering it’s Christmas day tomorrow, I thought I’d move this blog post a day earlier and make it a mash of grateful wonderings and festive updates.

Though really, the updates aren’t actually that festive…at all…

Although this post is labelled as being festive, it’s a lot more of an acknowledgement of things I’m grateful for from 2016, so if you don’t celebrate Christmas – don’t worry, you won’t be bombarded with it. And I hope each and every one of you take a moment and join me in thinking of things you’re grateful for šŸ™‚

Let’s get to it!

Let’s Talk: Should Publishers do more to acknowledge the work of book bloggers?

publishers-appreciate

Well guys, here we are. The last discussion post of the year!

…which might actually confuse you all slightly, since I upload them every Wednesday and this is very obviously not the last Wednesday of the year. BUT after uploading a discussion post every single week for a year, I’ve come to the point where ideas are running low. So A Frolic Through Fiction is taking a li’l break from it’s weekly discussions – and with the amount of posts coming from me this December (trust me, there’s A LOT), what better time for the break than now? But don’t you worry, they’ll be back early 2017. Just need some time off to think of new topics!

And so we get to this week’s topic, inspired by the recent BEA changes.

Should publishers do more to appreciate the work of book bloggers?

Let’s Talk: Do you give books as gifts? How do you choose which ones?

books-as-gifts

With it being December and all, I decided to make this week’s discussion a li’l bit more festive, just to get us into the Christmas spirit even more.

So with us here being bookworms, it’s probably no surprise to us if we get books as a gift. It’s the go to option and we love them.

But do you give books as a gift…and if you do, how do you choose which ones?

Let’s Talk: Has book blogging and booktube become competitive?

competitive

Honestly, as I’m writing this now I have no idea where I’m going with this discussion. It’s just something that seems to have popped up a lot lately – especially on twitter – so I thought I’d see what you guys think.

So let’s talk – has book blogging & booktube become competitive?

Rainy Day Reads: Recommendations of books to read when the weather is dismal & your inner bookworm can shine

rainy-day-reads

Rainy days are just the best days for us bookworms, aren’t they?

It gives us the excuse not to go anywhere. To wrap up in blankets, snuggling cosily with a warm drink, reading a book while hearing the rain pounding the windows. The world is gloomy, but it doesn’t matter because you’re encased in a fictional one.

But what to read?

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered…

Here are a few recommendations from li’l old me, two for a range of genres for you to pick out and cosy up with on those dismal days.

lets-talk-4

SPONTANEOUS BLOG POST BECAUSE BOOKISH NEWS.

This actually confused me slightly when it was revealed yesterday. Because Heartless by Marissa Meyer had a cover reveal…even though it already had one. I even did a blog post on that one too šŸ˜†

And yet here we are today, with another spontaneous blog post because I just feel the need to share all things bookish. Even if it happened yesterday and everyone probably already saw by now. But shhhhhh we’re here to chat about said news.

So here’s the UK cover of Heartless, in
