Reading Resolution: An Update | Ohhhhh, we’re halfway there…

resolutions update

SO. We’ve reached the halfway point guys. 2017 is whizzing right past faster than we can blink. Where does that leave us?

Well, I don’t know about you, it’s left me stranded in a random month wondering where the other months went. It’s rather bewildering.

But at the start of the year, I set myself some reading resolutions. And while it seemed to be going well at the start, they might have just…fizzled out a bit. As resolutions tend to do. Maybe.

Shall we find out?

Looking back at my 2016 reading resolutions – let’s see if I nailed them or failed them

look-at-resolutions

At the start of 2016, way back when the new year brought hopeful ambition coursing through my veins, I made a whole bunch of reading resolutions.

Now, resolutions aren’t something I usually stick to. The intention is there, but the motivation very quickly dies. However…somehow reading resolutions are easier to achieve to me. Maybe because I’m actually interested in them, or because it’s not a huge lifestyle change?

There were quite a few though. And a lot of the time I forgot I even had resolutions. So I’ve honestly no idea how this look back will go, but I’m excited to see whether I failed it or nailed it 😆

Let’s take a look back!

YOU recommend! It’s time for you guys to take over my blog & make my formidable TBR even longer

you-reccomend

Guys, you’re taking over my blog.

At least for today, anyway.

This blog is basically one huge recommendation for reading. There’s an endless amount of books talked about on here, but even so, there’s even more I’ve not yet discovered.

Now, recently I posted my Reading Resolutions for 2017 video. For those who you who haven’t seen it (which you totally should, you know. Would be very much appreciated *winks*), three of the resolutions on there are about bringing a difference to my reading taste.

1. I hope to read more nonfiction

2. I hope to read more diversely

and 3. I hope to broaden my genres

Which means I’ve got a lot of book buying to do in 2017. And you know what I need to do that?

Your recommendations!

Taking A Look Back At My Bookish Resolutions & To See How I’m Doing So Far

look back at resolutions

I was going to save this idea until June, when we’re officially halfway through the year. But I felt like doing it today instead.

At the start of January, I made a post of all my bookish resolutions for 2016.

And it randomly popped into my head the other day – “I wonder how I’m doing so far?” Because most resolutions are broken halfway through January…but I’m silently hopeful that I’m at least getting somewhere with them.

Also, I’ve realized that the resolution I’m most determined to succeed in isn’t even on the original post – I somehow completely missed it out! Who knows how I managed that *facepalm*  So that one will be added on at the end.

So let’s see how well I’m doing with my resolutions so far!

It’s a tradition to think up some resolutions for every new year. Well, I changed mine up a bit. I have thought of 10 New Year’s resolutions related to books. I’ve seen that this is quite a popular thing for readers to think up some challenges like this, so I figured I’d give it a go too!
