The Jingle Bell Book Tag

A Christmas Carol book between two book shaped christmas presents

Well we’ve not seen a book tag around these parts for awhile have we? But I’m going to be honest with you, I wanted some more festivity on this lil blog of mine and so it was perfect timing for Richard to tag me in his Jingle Bell Book Tag! This is a tag he made a couple of years ago using a combination of christmas songs and movies, so y’know, we’ve got music, we’ve got films, and we’ve got books. We’re in for a good time amiright?

Bookish Gift Guide | Support The Independents

Whether you’re organised with your Christmas shopping or completely at a loss so far, I feel like December is a month full of browsing. Even if you have your life together and everything sorted, isn’t it just interesting to see what’s out there? I certainly think so.

Well, I’m coming at you today with some of the independents. Wherever possible, I try to buy from independent businesses who are more likely to appreciate the money I spend than big corporations would. Of course, it’s not always avoidable. Buying from the big places can work out cheaper, quicker, more convenient in general. BUT…I do try to support the independents. And so I thought I’d create a lil bookish gift guide, suggesting not only some bookish gift ideas but specifically linking you folks to indie shops I think deserve more attention.

Merry Christmas!! Grateful wonderings from 2016 & a few festive updates

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Considering it’s Christmas day tomorrow, I thought I’d move this blog post a day earlier and make it a mash of grateful wonderings and festive updates.

Though really, the updates aren’t actually that festive…at all…

Although this post is labelled as being festive, it’s a lot more of an acknowledgement of things I’m grateful for from 2016, so if you don’t celebrate Christmas – don’t worry, you won’t be bombarded with it. And I hope each and every one of you take a moment and join me in thinking of things you’re grateful for 🙂

Let’s get to it!

Bookish Gift Guide – because gift buying can be difficult, right?

gift-guide

EVERYBODY SING! “It’s the moooost wonderful timeee of the yearrrr”

– or at least, it is if you have your gift ideas sorted. If not, then it can be the most stressful time of the year.

Now, bookworms might seem like the easiest people to buy for. What do you get a bookworm? A book. Sorted! ….or is it? You might not want to get them a book. It’s a pretty predictable gift. You might have gotten them books for the last 5 christmases and want to change it up a bit. You might still be getting them a book, but want something else to go along with it. Or even if you want to get them a book, you might not know what sort of books they’d want. There’s a lot of things to consider.

So here are my gift ideas. Now, I do have to admit that I’m really bad at coming up with gift ideas. So I’ve honestly no idea why I’m doing this post. A lot of these you’ve probably heard of before, with the amount of gift guides out there, but I’ve tried to throw in a few new ideas!

Everything will be linked too in case you want to follow up any of these ideas!

Let’s get on with the gift guide!

December Book Haul

December Haul

So it’s just been Christmas!

I hope everyone had a really lovely day yesterday ❤ I know I did – mine was amazing actually, I got so many surprises that just blew my mind! The main one being…A LAPTOP!!!! I asked for one for my 18th birthday in February but my dad decided to surprise me by giving me one yesterday! Now it will be easier for me to blog since I won’t have to use my dad’s computer on the rare occasions he’s not on it to schedule loads of posts ahead of time 😀

Anyway – back to the post.

Instead of this being just a Christmas haul, I decided to make it my December Haul, because I bought a few books before Christmas. All together there are 17 BOOKS! (EEEEEEKKKK!)

*side note: I apologize for the low quality photographs. I took them late at night on my phone camera so they aren’t as good as I’d have hoped*

So without further ado, I’ll get on with the haul!
