The Tormented Witch by J.C. Beckham | A fun read…but for me? It was really quite cringey

The Tormented Witch

I honestly don’t really want to write this review. I hate it when reviews aren’t good ones…but I’ve got to be honest. Plus it’s not ALL bad, so…yeah.

UGHHHH.

Let’s just get on with it.

How happy I am to finally be writing this review!

Ever since reading The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich, I’ve been obsessed. I talk about it all the time. If you have me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was when Dawn offered to send me an ARC to review of her new book, The Creeper Man! 😀

Seriously, I ran downstairs and started jumping up and down practically screaming at my dad in incoherent nonsense.

So let’s talk about The Creeper Man!

(though maybe you don’t want to…talking about him can summon terrible things…DUN DUN DUNNNNN)

Paper Boats

This book came along to me at just the right time.

I’d just finished reading Anne Frank’s diary (review coming on Monday). I was in the mood for historical fiction. And then lo-and-behold, this book turned up for me to review.

How lucky is that? 😀

So let’s talk about Paper Boats!

New Worlds, Unique Gifts And…Studying At University? In Gifted By J.A. George

*All reviews I write are spoiler free*

So this weekend, I got my hands on this book and pretty much read it in two days. It’s a short book, so I knew I would, and instead of waiting another week or so to upload the review on my usual review day (Friday), here it is today.

Because it can’t be fair to keep it waiting for so long, right?

Plus by then I’ll probably have finished another book so…yeah. Extra review for this week!

I don’t know why I just rambled about all that. I think it’d be pretty clear that I finished another book if there’s another review 😀

Enough rambling. Let’s talk about Gifted!

May Wrap Up – Complete With Some Major Fangirl Moments

May wrap up

I know this is coming nearly a week into June. I was going to write it the weekend before and have it up early, but I knew I’d finish one last book in May after this would’ve been uploaded, so I delayed the wrap up a week to include it.

Anyway, the month of May seemed to drag out considerably for me. The books I read at the start of the month feel like a lifetime ago. But I’ve had a decent reading month, and a fair few fangirl moments towards the end of the month.

As always, this is going to be a long post, so get comfy and enjoy!

May

May Book Haul – How Do You Manage To Accumulate Books Without Even Realizing?

may book haul

Well apparently it’s June.

May did actually drag for me. When I look back at these books, they all feel like I got them a lifetime ago. Well, apart from the last three, which I got a couple of days ago.

About that: The last three books I technically got on June 1st, BUT…I’m hoping not to buy any books in June so they’re being put into this book haul rather than be missed out.

And the title?

That’s because with this month dragging out so much for me, I managed to accumulate nine books in May without even realizing it. Probably because of a combination of me not buying all of them/ I’ve already read some of them/ and I got them over such a wide span…or so I thought.

So that’s enough rambling. Here’s the books!

Another week, another book review!

This was actually a really unexpected read this week. Completely threw a spanner in the works when it came to my TBR for the month! But I don’t mind.

Basically, what happened was I received the review request for this book way back in February, saying that I could receive a paperback when they’re released in March. March came and went, and no book appeared, so I kind of just assumed it had been forgotten about. Bad to assume that, I know.

Well, last week a copy finally turned up! I don’t know whether it just took a really long time to be delivered or whether they were sent out later than I expected, but obviously I prioritise the books sent to me, so here we are today 😀

Let’s talk about The Masterpiecers!
