Believe it or not my friends, I hadn’t been to any sort of bookish event before now. Here in the UK, it’s rare for people to come to my city…which is quite surprising actually, considering I live in one of the largest cities. But, with my inability to travel elsewhere, I just hadn’t been to any kind of bookish event.

Until now. And ohhh I started with a good one. Because Samantha Shannon – one of my FAVOURITE authors – came to do a book signing/”evening with” event. And when I found out, I genuinely squealed. I was at my friends house and just shouted at her “OHMYGOSHWECANGOWECANGOI’LLGETTHETICKETSTOMORROWWE’REGOING.”

And so this has been planned for over a month.

I forgot so much. I feel like my mind has been enlightened. Like…I knew I was missing details, but not quite so much. And for a favourite series? Well, we can’t be having that now can we.

February/Birthday Book Haul! Stocking up my physical TBR once again

Sooooo it was my birthday on Friday 🙂

And while I don’t make that huge a fuss about my own birthday, it does mean I was treated to some new books, and that alone is exciting for me!

Like with my December Book Haul, my main version of this haul is actually on my booktube channel, since it’s a lot easier to explain which were gifts/which I got before my birthday, along with why I’m interested in them. So the video will be down below, but underneath the books and synopsis’ will be listed for anyone who doesn’t have enough time (or simply don’t want) to watch the video.

I know I JUST posted a book review earlier today, but here’s another. I was going to schedule it for some time next week but I just have to share it right this very second.

Now, I heard about this book and became so excited. I’m a HUGE fan of The Bone Season series, and Samantha Shannon is one of my favourite authors. But then I found out that it was being released as an Ebook, and since I can’t read from screens (as I mention in my review policy), I gave up hope on being able to read it.

And then a giveaway came along from Bloomsbury.

A giveaway that I thought I would have absolutely no chance of winning.

A signed physical copy.

So you can pretty much guess how much I fangirled when I found out that I – an unlikely and very surprised fan – had indeed won a signed copy.

I think I scared my friend with how I reacted to be honest! 😀

But anyway…

Series I have yet to finish

I have this habit of buying books that are completely unrelated to each other, instead of buying the next book in a series I’ve started to continue on. So I have A LOT of series I haven’t yet finished.

This will be split into two different section: Series where the books have all been released and I’ve just not gotten round to continuing yet, and Series that I am up to date with, but need to wait for the next books to be released to finish.
