April & May | Things are looking up (if “up” comes with a dose of “scary”)

A candid photo of me laughing, stood in front of a wall of flowers

April and May, what an intense couple of months you were.

April is barely a memory to me, this mind of mine having blanked the majority of it out due to sheer stress at all times. I know the facts: two essays to write – one of which being completely rewritten a few days before hand in – and an exam to revise for all in the same week. A summer placement to nervously apply for. Grades from previous essays coming back left right and centre. My brain feeling a constant pressure I attempted to keep at bay. But for the most part, it feels almost like April didn’t happen, this weird disconnection taking over and allowing me to run on autopilot. So there’s not much to say on that month (hence the lack of a monthly update back then).

Well, as stressful as April proved to be, I had plenty to look forward to going into May.

January // Uni 2.0, travels, and other rambles

2

January. The month that seems to last a year, despite being the one to introduce us to a new year in the first place. The irony.

January was a mixed lot. The year ahead looked at once both hopeful and daunting. The weeks preceding only proved it would, indeed, be both. So in every way possible, this month has dragged, a sentiment it seems the majority of the world agrees on. But oh, so much has happened.

July Wrap Up & August TBR

No favourites for this month! I honestly can’t think of anything I’ve loved throughout the month of July that I haven’t already mentioned, so today’s post is just a share of my July Wrap Up video!

June Wrap Up & Favourites |A looooong month, but it ended in the best way

june faves

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like June dragged on for so so long. A large amount of us bookworms reached the end of the academic year, and summer is surely upon us. Now – where before our studies took over – we have days upon days of reading ahead of us. We can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Let’s see what June brought!

May Wrap Up & Favourites | All the new things?

may faves

May. The month where everyone in the UK melted during that one week of heat we had. The month where all of us still in education take part in a frantic work ethic, as years come to an end and stress levels are high. Some of us are free for the summer already (you lucky ducks). Some of us have that little bit longer to go. Either way, May is gradually introducing the summer, and readers around the world are *so* ready to have extra reading time.

Let’s see what May brought!

February Wrap Up & Favourites | Things slowing down in the shortest month…but also my birthday!

february-favourites

February. The shortest month of the year. And the month filled with love? While Valentine’s day might not be a hit for everyone, it’s not just all about romance. There’s an overall sense of gratefulness come the occasion, an appreciation for friends and family too.

Though the month is only missing two or three days, those missing days can feel like they make all the difference. We don’t quite make it to day 30 before starting again. But still, the months roll on.

Let’s see what February brought…

December Wrap Up – The one where I fly through books quicker than usual

december-wrap-up

December. The month of festivities. Christmas creeping closer, the streets bustling more as people hurriedly buy gifts for others. Everything is suddenly strung with lights and tinsel, lighting the world up for the final month of the year. There’s a happy atmosphere surrounding the air, gently concealing the stress levels Christmas can bring.

December brings along the Christmas break. A break from work, a break from college, a break to recover from the year. A break…to READ.

Okayy, that’s obviously not the universal reason for the Christmas/End of Year break but it sure as hell is MINE.

So let’s see what December brought!

There’s also a video version of this post if you’d like the see, combined with my January TBR! Click here to see! (though I forgot to mention one of the books – doh!)

October Wrap Up – The one where October doesn’t exist and I become a bear cub

october

Okayy, but did October actually exist?

I’ve been thinking it September for the past month, and now suddenly we’re going into November…WHAT?! It’s nearly Christmas! (Yes, I’m THAT sort of person)

Weirdly enough, October just felt like it didn’t exist. I have a strange feeling that I didn’t read that much, even though this wrap up shows I very obviously did. October for me was just a vague noticing of the leaves changing colour and the temperature dropping rapidly. Lord knows what I did for the rest of it.

But here we are at my wrap up for the month, so let’s find out!

There’s also a video version of this Wrap Up on my booktube channel, where I go into my thoughts on the books a little more. Click here to check it out!

September Wrap Up – The one where college starts again and my schedule is suddenly a lot more full

september-wrap-up

Taking a little break from the blogger tips mini-series, here’s my wrap up of the month!

Don’t worry though, the blogger tips will be back next Sunday. Shh, don’t tell anyone.

For some strange reason, this entire month I kept thinking we were halfway through October. It’s almost a relief we’ve reached October, just so that I’ll finally be right 😆

Plus, IT’S AUTUMN! *throws orange leaves in the air* Sure, it means from now until June next year I’ll be permanently cold, but oh well. Everything is cosy and pretty.

As always, this is going to be a long post, so get cosy and enjoy!

August Wrap Up – The result of a month doing absolutely nothing

August wrap up

Okayy, this month did actually speed by for once. That’s not happened for a while. But this time it feels like I literally only just wrote my July Wrap Up…so strange.

I had a bit of a weird reading month. I felt like I didn’t read anything? But I very obviously did. I don’t know what August did to me.

As always, this is going to be a long post, so get comfy and enjoy!
