Bookish Fan Art

fan art

Today’s post is something a little different.

I’ve got a huge fascination for fan art. I love searching through Pinterest looking at the talent people have.

And if you follow me on Twitter, I’m sure you know that I also love attempting my own fan art.

So for today’s post, I’m splitting this into two sections:

Section 1 – Sharing some of my favourite fan art that I’ve seen on Pinterest

Section 2 – Sharing a few of my own.

So let’s look at some Fan Art!

Some of my favourites

A Darker Shade of Magic

Delilah Bard and the Dane twins

Heroes of Olympus

Hazel & Frank, Leo, Percabeth, and Thalia

Harry Potter

Luna and Neville

The Lunar Chronicles

Cinder, Cress and Thorne, and Levana

Throne of Glass

Aelin, Lysandra and Evangeline, and Rowan

My Fan Art

Now I’m not the best at art, but I do love drawing and painting. Most of my best artwork isn’t fan art, so you’ll not be seeing the best stuff today. But here are a few pieces I’ve done.

Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass

Celaena Sardothien

It’s only a simple drawing, and I did this one or two years ago I think. I drew it when I first read Throne of Glass (hence why she has that name rather than one of her others).

The Mockingjay symbol from The Hunger Games

A painting I did about a year ago using acrylic paint on a thin canvas. I don’t really know what inspired me to paint it purple and yellow.

Blue Sargent from The Raven Boys

Blue Sargent

This one I’m not exactly impressed with. I can’t draw people. But I read The Raven Boys the other day and loved Blue, so I tried to draw her. Tried.

I don’t think it looks like her really, but ah well *shrugs*

Winter from The Lunar Chronicles

And this one I did just yesterday!

I’m about 200 pages into Winter (the book) and Winter (the character) is becoming one of my favourites, along with Cress. So I tried to paint her!

The background is actually dark purple to match the book covers, not blue, but for some reason my camera just won’t pick up the right colour. The colours do look much better in person though.

So there we have it!

That’s it for this slightly different post. I was just feeling quite uninspired to write this post up, but since I’ve been in a creative mood lately I thought I’d share it.

Let me know which fan art pieces are your favourites, whether from the ones I chose out from Pinterest or my own. I’d love to know!

Do you create any fan art? If you do, share it! Or link me to it! I’d love to see! ๐Ÿ˜€
