Series I have yet to finish

Series I have yet to finish

I have this habit of buying books that are completely unrelated to each other, instead of buying the next book in a series I’ve started to continue on. So I have A LOT of series I haven’t yet finished.

This will be split into two different section: Series where the books have all been released and I’ve just not gotten round to continuing yet, and Series that I am up to date with, but need to wait for the next books to be released to finish.

There will be Goodreads links for the 1st books in the series, if you want to check them out.

So…let’s do this!

All the books are out

Anna and the French Kiss series by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the french kissLola and the boy next doorIsla and the happily ever after

I actually don’t know why i haven’t continued this series. I don’t read much contemporary, but when I read Anna and the French Kiss, it became one of my favourite books. Maybe I just always gravitate towards the fantasy books when I have money to buy them?

The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken

The darkest mindsNeverfadeIn the afterlight

I read the first book in this series about 2 years ago, then never got round to buying the other two. I think i’m at the stage where I’m debating whether to buy the others and reread The Darkest Minds, or to just not continue on.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

CinderScarletCressWinterFairest

I’m gradually getting through this series. In fact, I’m reading Cress right now. Winter was released yesterday, meaning this series is now complete.

The Queen of the Tearling series by Erika Johansen

I know there’s another book to be released yet, but I’ve only read The Queen of the Tearling, and haven’t carried on with the 2nd book yet. Hopefully I will do soon!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs

Miss peregrine'sHollow cityLibrary of souls

I actually have a reason for this one! I’ve read the first two books but haven’t bought the last one yet because I always buy paperbacks, and the paperback version hasn’t been released yet. It’s a long wait, but my copies need to match, right?

series up to date with

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas

Throne of glassCrown of MidnightHeir of fireQueen of shadowsAssassin's blade

This is one of my favourite book series! As this section suggests, I’ve read all the books, including the novella bind up The Assassin’s Blade. Throne of Glass will be a six book series, seven if you include the novella bind up. I can’t wait!

A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas

ACOTAR

Oh look, another Sarah J Maas book! Not surprising since she’s one of my favourite authors.

In between the Throne Of Glass series, we have the ACOTAR trilogy being released. At the moment, only the first book is out, but the second book – A Court of Mist and Fury – will be released in May 2016.

Doesn’t A Court of Thorns and Roses look so lonely? The sooner the next book is out, the better!

The Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon

bone seasonmime order

Another favourite series of mine! (I have a lot of favourite books, OK?)

This is going to be a seven book series, and I could not be more excited 😀 The 3rd book – The Song Rising – will be released in November 2016.

I recently wrote a review for the 2nd book, The Mime Order (spoiler free, of course!) so if you’d like to see that, click here.

*whispers* Still cant believe it’s going the be a seven book series!

The Illuminae Files trilogy by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

illuminae

Another book that looks lonely for now.

This was the last book I read, and is a relatively new release. I can’t wait for the next two books.

A Darker Shade of Magic series by V.E. Schwab

ADSOMAGOS

This books companion actually has a cover so it’s not lonely, even though the second book hasn’t been released yet!

These are the UK covers by the way. They look so good together 😀

The second book – A Gathering of Shadows – will be released in February 2016.

So here we are! Those were all the books I have not finished yet, whether it’s because the rest of the series is not released yet, or just because I’ve never gotten round to it.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these series!

    1. Me too 🙂 I’m making more of an effort to finish series now so I should do. The series in the 2nd section will take me ages to finish though, since I have to wait for every single book to be released haha!

  2. This is basically a list of the books I need to read. Expect for the Anna and the French Kiss series which I’ve and really enjoyed. Such fun read. 🙂

  3. All of these look so good! I want A Court of Mist and Fury out right now because I physically cannot wait another minute to read it. The same goes for the Throne of Glass series. I haven’t had a chance to read A Darker Shade of Magic yet but I’ve heard really good thing and so its on my Christmas list. 🙂

  4. I’ve read Stephanie Perkins’ three books and they’re all really adorable. I read The Darkest Minds and loved it but never finished the series. The Lunar Chronicles are so good and I can’t wait to get my paws on Winter! I read Miss Peregrine’s but still haven’t finished the series. I absolutely love ACOTAR, it’s one of my favorite books I’ve read this year, and possibly my favorite Sarah J. Maas book. I still haven’t read Queen of Shadows, or The Assassin’s Blade… Oh, and I absolutely cannot wait for A Gathering Shadows! A Darker Shade of Magic is another of my favorite books of the year. I’m officially a V.E. Schwab fan!

    1. It sounds like we read really similar books haha! I became a VE Schwab fan this year too and now I just want all her books. Have you heard that A Court of Thorns and Roses has been optioned for a movie adaptation?

  5. I love Sarah J Maas’s books as well, she is such a good writer! I also never finished the Darkest Minds series, I only ever read the first one. I have always wanted to read the Lunar Chronicles and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but I just never got around to it.

  6. I just finished the Lunar Chronicles yesterday and it was wonderful! and I’ve been meaning to read A Darker Shade of Magic since it was released. I’m guessing it was good if you want to read the sequel! I really like the UK cover.

          2. It’s ridiculous. Whenever I think about buying something, I think about it in terms of how many books I could get instead for the same 😂 Did you read Maze Runner? I have the, but I’m dubious.

          3. I do that as well haha! xD I’ve read the first and second book in The Maze Runner series. I’ve yet to read the last one and I don’t know if I will…

          4. It’s not that they’re bad, I’ve sort of just left it too long. When I read them I think I rated the first two books 4 stars each. But because I’ve left it so long to pick up the last book, I’ve kind of lost interest. I might be encouraged to pick it up when the last film comes out, but I actually liked the 2nd film more than the book so I don’t know :/

          5. I think The Maze Runner could be a good jump from The Hunger Games, if you’re wanting something with a similar genre. I love The Hunger Games books, I could do with rereading them.

          6. I loved Hunger Games, they were incredible. I’ll give Maze a bash then. Also, I’ve just bought Cinder haha. I’m trusting you… Going to try and squeeze it in next month, seems festive and magically appropriate.
