Collective Book Haul – April & May |Gotta get those spring reads in

collective book haul

So I thought to myself the other day “Ashleigh, it’s been freakin’ AGES since you did a book haul on your blog. Sort yourself out.” They’re just easier to do on my booktube channel, and so somehow I’ve neglected to add them here too.

But NOT TODAY MY FRIENDS. Because here I’m bringing you my collective book haul. Like I did on my last haul, I’ll link my video at the start of the list, since that’s where I explain where I got the books from and any thoughts I have on them, but if you can’t watch the video (or simply don’t want to *cries* (just kidding)), all the books will be listed below as their own haul!

Here’s my spring book haul!

Favourite books of 2016 | That awkward moment where I realise I’ve been reluctant with the 5 stars

favourite-books-2016

Hi guys! How are you all doing? I hope all of you that celebrate Christmas had a wonderful time these past few days ❤

Today’s post is coming to you a bit later in the day than usual. With the festivities and general busyness of the season, I didn’t have time to write and schedule the post beforehand like usual. And let’s face it, it’s taking me longer to get back into the swing of things after taking a break.

But today, I’m bringing you my favourite books of 2016. The ones I READ in 2016, not necessarily published in 2016. Now, when I came to look through my Goodreads challenge to choose my favourites out, I was originally planning on picking out 16 for 2016. BUT…then I realised that this year, I’ve actually been quite stingy with my 5 star ratings, and there’s not that many I wanted to mention. However, I did rate a fair few books a 4.5/5 stars, and some of those are really close to being all-time favourites (and are definitely favourites for this year) so I’ve included those too, and managed to get 10.

So let’s talk about my favourite books of 2016!

September Wrap Up – The one where college starts again and my schedule is suddenly a lot more full

september-wrap-up

Taking a little break from the blogger tips mini-series, here’s my wrap up of the month!

Don’t worry though, the blogger tips will be back next Sunday. Shh, don’t tell anyone.

For some strange reason, this entire month I kept thinking we were halfway through October. It’s almost a relief we’ve reached October, just so that I’ll finally be right 😆

Plus, IT’S AUTUMN! *throws orange leaves in the air* Sure, it means from now until June next year I’ll be permanently cold, but oh well. Everything is cosy and pretty.

As always, this is going to be a long post, so get cosy and enjoy!

The Throne of Glass Colouring Book REVIEW – A very different kind of review, but an interesting one to say the least

throne-of-glass-colouring-book

So you might be thinking something along the lines of “Ashleigh…a review…of a COLOURING book? What?”

I know. It’s different. But there’s a story behind it.

But recently I joined the SocialBookCo Reviewing Programme. This is a site that compares all the different prices of books from different retailers, showing you where you can buy each book for the cheapest price. And then there’s the reviewing side – If you join their programme, there are opportunities for you to be sent books for free in exchange for an honest review by a given date.

That was quite a flimsy summary of the website – I’m not too great at explaining things. But basically, SocialBookCo sent me this colouring book in exchange for a review, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it because I didn’t think I’d get this book for months! So thank you!

Is it even possible to give spoilers for a colouring book?

Throne of Glass TV show news : My conflicting thoughts turned into incoherent psychobabble

ToG TV.PNG

This literally happened just half an hour ago (as I’m typing, though this will be scheduled for the morning) and I need to type because I have so many conflicting thoughts and they’re overwhelming me.

It’s been announced the Throne of Glass will have a TV show. Not just optioned for one. THERE WILL BE ONE.

Before I go further, click here to see the article explaining, if you haven’t seen it already.

And thus, let my incoherent psychobabble of thoughts begin…

Let’s Talk: Bonus content for books…does it *actually* make a difference?

bonus content

I can’t predict whether you guys will like this topic or not. It’s a bit of a strange one in the way that I’d literally not thought about it until a certain book started bothering me for this reason.

I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.

So let’s talk…Does bonus content in books actually make a difference?

May Wrap Up – Complete With Some Major Fangirl Moments

May wrap up

I know this is coming nearly a week into June. I was going to write it the weekend before and have it up early, but I knew I’d finish one last book in May after this would’ve been uploaded, so I delayed the wrap up a week to include it.

Anyway, the month of May seemed to drag out considerably for me. The books I read at the start of the month feel like a lifetime ago. But I’ve had a decent reading month, and a fair few fangirl moments towards the end of the month.

As always, this is going to be a long post, so get comfy and enjoy!

May Book Haul – How Do You Manage To Accumulate Books Without Even Realizing?

may book haul

Well apparently it’s June.

May did actually drag for me. When I look back at these books, they all feel like I got them a lifetime ago. Well, apart from the last three, which I got a couple of days ago.

About that: The last three books I technically got on June 1st, BUT…I’m hoping not to buy any books in June so they’re being put into this book haul rather than be missed out.

And the title?

That’s because with this month dragging out so much for me, I managed to accumulate nine books in May without even realizing it. Probably because of a combination of me not buying all of them/ I’ve already read some of them/ and I got them over such a wide span…or so I thought.

So that’s enough rambling. Here’s the books!
